Hey, I am having a problem with windows ME whenever I open My computer/Internet Explorer, I get an error message saying that it needs to close explorer. I read that it could have to do with a Trojan "Xuipter" so I removed that, I tried downloading MFC42.DLL from a website and going in through ms-dos mode and replacing the MFC42.dll in the c:\windows\system dir. I need some help im running out of ideas :) I read also it could have something to do with Microsoft money, not entirely sure yet. Doing more research, if you have any sugjestions please help!

What is the exact error message does it say something about a "script error"? If it right click the IE icon(yes Internet Explorer.)Advanced Tab and check Disable script Debugging. Also if that doesn't help try repairing or reinstalling IE. If not please give as much info as possible.

Just uninstalling Xupiter does not remove all of the files and problems that it creates. After using add/remove program to remove Xupiter do a find for files and folders named Xupiter and delete al files and folders. Reboot and it should work without a problem. After rebooting search the web for removing xuptier. There are a few registry keys that will remain behind which you may want to clean out.

I get an "Illegal Operation Error" and it says that if the problem persists try rebooting your computer, I did so. No dice. I used "Ad-ware" to remove the registry files and the such for Xuipter, gonna try a search as well see if there is anything I missed, If anyone has Windows ME, if they could send me their MFC42.DLL file that would help me out incredibly!!!
