Hi, Everytime i shut down windows it will get as far as the blinker on black screen. Then i have to do a force shutdown.
I did a scan disk & defragment. Its been going on now for about a week so if i do a restore my latest downloaded & installed programs may be lost. ThanX Buddy

You can open the "close program" box by pressing Ctrl/Alt/Delete at the same time (dont press it twice,it will shut down your PC) and see whats listed in the box and close down each program ,one at a time and then try shutting down your PC ,Start/Shut Down ! Thru a process of elimination you should be able to narrow it down to the offending app ? Remember to always leave system tray ,and explorer running . Good Luck Nick
