how do i put in rd ram memory in my computer 184pin rimm someone tells me that that although i have 4 slots for the memory (256 already in)none of the slots in this kind of memory should be empty there should be blanks to keep the circit formed

Yes, all the slots must have a chip in them. Use the blanks for the empty slots. I think its continuation thing. When adding memory, use the slots where the blanks are located. Example: i upgraded to two 512meg chips installed them into the first two slots then made sure the two blanks were still seated. 4 slots = 512, 512, blank, blank.
