I need help, I tried to install a 512 Mb Stick of memory. Windows seems to only recognize the 128 stick. both are pc133. When i run start up, before windows loads, for memory bank 0 it says 128 MB pc 133, and for memory bank 1 it says uninitialized, whats my problem and how do i fix it?? thanks either reply here or you can email me

hello
just try the new ram first and see if it works .put it in the first slot.if its working .useing the other 128 stick is an over kill as m.e and 89 will have problems useing more than 512 ram. and there is a vache setting to make it not use or see more than 512.if you were duel booting m.e-xp and had more ram that would be the route to go. heres a link shows you how to set vache
and for running vidio and tuneing m.e try this link
http://www.videoguys.com/WinME_Tweaks.htmlsetting it for too much ram is configured some what diferant numbers. a forum seach might just show you the ecat methoud.

Did you check to see if your motherboard could handle that much RAM? You may be able to download a BIOS flash that will work. Go to your favorite downhload site and get the free program Belarc Advisor, and it will tell you what chipset you have. Good Luck.

So i put the bigger stick in teh first slot, and got Belarc. It says that DIMM 1 is empty. I tried just the 512 stick and the comp wont boot. Help me please. What is a Bios Flash??

aren't there some issues with ME and more than 512 megs of memory? Try searching the MS web site and see what you can find.

Sounds like your computer will not work with 512Mb DIMMs. Sorry. Depends on the memory controller on the system board. Some are limited to using 256Mb DIMMs. Older machines may only work with 128Mb DIMMs, (Compaq).
You need to check with the vendor of your system board. (You gave NO clue as to what system board you have.)
