Comment: When I point the cursor at a downloaded song the player picks another song and plays it. I checked the shuffle mode and it is not on -I then went to microsoft and downloaded the whole media player again (the old one was extracted, I guess) - No Luck - the same thing keeps happening - I then used system restore and went back to May 3rd but the same problem occurs even after the restore -now my sound is gone - I restarted the computer after I unplugged the desk top woofer and then plugged it back in after the computer started up again but the sound is still out. The mute is not on. Hope you can help Thanks a lot Gary

Reply: (edit)Remove the Windows Media Player completely. Do a maintenance on your system. Clean up the registry using MS regclean. Do a Diskclean / Disc scan and Defrag. Reboot and download the Windows Media Player. Download WINAMP also and see if it works. If it does than theres something wrong with the Windows Media Player and not your system. Dont ever restore to a point before a program was installed. If you have to then reinstall the program.
