ME won't print to XP net printer

Home network with one XP wired desktop, one XP wireless laptop, and one ME wired desktop.
HP Laserjet connected to LPT1: on XP desktop. That machine prints fine. The laptop prints fine, so I know printer sharing is working. The ME machine THINKS it's printed successfully, but nothing ever comes from the printer. Troubleshooting has not solved the problem. The ME machine has no problem seeing a drive shared off the XP desktop, so the network link is fine. Any ideas?

Steven Hill, SWAG, sounds to me like maybe the ME machine is sending data to the wrong place. See if target is correct on present installation and change if needed? Reinstall printer? Know it's possible to do what you want, feel like you have a setup wrong. There is a tutorial on networking at : www.homenethelp.com HTH. Ed in Texas.
