I recently reformatted and reinstalled ME . I also downloaded and installed all the ME and other program updates successfuly. I also downloaded ad aware SE and am running Mcafee virus scan successfully. Now after ME logo page, i get blue screen background and error message cmdninst error occurred close or ignore. ignore does not respond close brings up message caused error in setupx.dll When Iclose this message the system just sits. thanks for ideas

There was no software installed just prior to the problem. The PC had been working well for several days after all the reloads and upgrades I mentioned . One issue I did not mention was I did try to load my Epson printer driver and got an error message at final installation about a missing file on the install CD and the printer install did not complete. I did not have a chance to get back on-line to download the epson driver. The PC was rebooted a number of times successfully after that before the error message problem started occurring. The epson software never showed as being installed, i assume since the installation did not complete. Right now, I can't get past the error messages above. I have a start up diskette that I had made earlier that will bring me to a DOS prompt but all the help instructions I have tried do not get me past the current issue. I have read a number of the posts that are somewhat related, but none specifically helps me know the specific command at DOS I could use to get windows ME to load. Any ideas are appreciated Thanks Chef1
