Hi. I was going to reinstall Windows Me. I reformatted my computer's hard drive and was about to install it again when it asked for the product key. I can not find it anywhere. Do you know if there is a way of recovering the product key from the Me CD itself? I can use a friend's computer to do this. Thanks.

It's not on the cd. The cd contains an algorithm or formula to determine if the key you enter is valid. That way they can make all the cds the same. It also means any valid key will work with your cd.

It should either be on the CD jewel case or the book that comes with the OS.
