Hello,
System Info: Gateway Select 1000, AMD 1000, 576MB Ram.
How can I diagnose what program is leaking mem. My resources are as high as 97% upon start up but dip into the 40's in just a few minuets. I do use Freehand and Dreamweaver quite a bit but no more than I used them on my old box with 98SE and only 256MB Ram and never had "low system resources." Cheers in advance!

You might want to start with these two sites.

memory and resources are two different things, it is not unusuall to be in 40% after opening 5 browser windwos, napster, winamp, aol, and ulead photoimpact.... if your computer dropps while multitasking to 40s its ok... it is important to check how the resources recover if you close again everything... my windows 98 recovers to 85% my windows ME to 80% free (both start in mid 90%)
you might have also too much memory... windows 9x and ME are having potential problems if RAM above 512.... try to pull out the 64 meg memory chip to bring it to 512 and test it

Try this site:
www.analogx.com
There you can download free program called MaxMem. It will watch you memory and free up any it can. You can configure it and you can click on the tray icon to manually free up memory. I added it to my startup to load when the computer is turned on. Several other great programs are also available there.
