Presently using IE 5.5, but when I go from Dial-Up to DSL, I will need to update to IE 6.0.
I have tried to install IE 6.0 but get a message that all parts cant be installed.
What is best (free) way to get 6.0 on my computer?
Thanks, Jesse East

OW-OW, mr carter! I know, wweell mmaybee ;-)
The provider probably said it was needed/required.
A little while back, ran into a dilemma. Well I didn't, but they did. They needed to run a program provided with the modem, to activate the service and mac. Well ;-) it wouldn't, because it said about the browser, cpu bla bla. Changed the contents of a file it used, (the specs it thought, it needed) and away it went ;-) Sorry, was just thinking/remembering out loud.

Sure - when I switched to DSL, my ISP provided IE6 on the modem driver CD, and insisted that it was 'necessary'
Balderdash - required only for the ISP's (useless) helper applications. For simplicity's sake I let it install the whole shebang, then uninstalled everything I didn't like (including IE6)
Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former.
