I'm in a bit of a pickle. I've been running
Windows ME on a Compaq Presario (yes,
I know) for about 3 years, and it's been
fairly okay so far. About three weeks ago, I
moved the computer from Wyoming to
Arizona. It worked fine for the first week,
but then I noticed that my computer was
freezing... a lot. After trying a lot of different
things, I decided to do a factory restore. It
didn't help at all. It still freezes constantly,
for no reason. It tends to do it more when
using the CD-ROM drive (specifically
installing something from CD-ROM) but
sometimes it freezes even when I play
solitare. I looked inside the case, but I
didn't find much other than the fan on the
motherboard was very warm after only a
few minutes of computer usage. Is this
normal? Any suggestions for how to solve
this problem?

yeah, during a move like that, you could have damaged sectors on your HD, use scandisk on through to fix that.

Also, you might need to reinstall WinME.
After three years, many techs will agree with me, its time.

Zegota, wish I could offer you a better thought, but... Just be aware that sometimes, during a move, stray magnetic fields can be encountered which can make a sensitive piece of electronic equipment do strange things. Might help to try rearranging things on your desktop, put them in different spots and see if there is any change??? (Relationship of computer/monitor, etc.)
HTH.
