Subject: ME CD/RW problems
OS: Win ME
CPU/Ram: PIII 1ghz/256mb
Model/Manufacturer: Custom
Comment:
I have a custom machine sitting here that someone else worked on prior to my getting it. It had a "fresh reload" right before i got it. There are 2 cd drives, one is a cd/rw. If the CD/RW is connected the computer freezes right after user logon. Error VMM(01)+000132CA ERROR:0D:0028:C00142CA then after enter ERROR:0D:0CC0:C13D0C68. If you leave the burner unplugged the computer works fine. How do I fix this? Drivers maybe?

How are the IDE drives configured? It's *usually* best to separate the optical drives, rather than having them on the same cable/channel. Make the CD drive the primary slave & the CDRW drive the 2ndary master.
