Comment:

I need one small answer:
Should I give MaxCacheSize/MinCacheSize in bits, kilobits or megabits?

I have forgotten :(

This is placing limits on vcache.

Why are you doing that?

Bytes. BTW, bytes are not the same as bits.

These are my settings (with 256 mem):

[vcache]
MinFileCache=16384
MaxFileCache=65536
ChunkSize=512

Just as clarificaiton, it is specified in 1000's of bytes.

And, in you are not running Win95 and do not have more than 512MBs installed, restricting the cache is not a good idea.
(as Adrian's benchmarks confirmed)

I messed around with these settings in WinMe and in my opinion it was a waste of time . I never seen any noticable differance in the performance of my PC. I recomend you leave these settings alone and let Windows control them. IMHO, Good Luck ,Nick

well, I need to set manually cache size, as I really don't know why but winblows uses all the ram in blaze!
only way to solve that is resizing cache...
:(

Luckily I have Mandrake as dual-boot, but FFS, I want to play Morrowind!!!
