I recently installed a Samsung CD burner in my computer. I slaved it to the CD-ROM drive and set the jumpers appropriately. The CD burner works great; I've burned CD's and the playback is flawless.

Problem is: the CD-ROM drive doesn't work now. When I try to play any CD I get the blue screen with the error message "An error has occurred ... etc, etc". It names a filename INCDFS(01). This file is a driver, I think; incdfs.vxd in my IOSUBSYS folder.

Any ideas as to what could be causing the error, and any corrective action would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I not sure it is a must ,however I was told the optimal setup was to have your CD-RW as the master on your secondary IDE channel with the CD-ROM (in my case DVD-ROM) as the secondary slave ! I have not had any probs with this setup, since I installed an internal CD-RW !I have a cheap Lg CD-RW ,I paid aro<nobr><a class="iAs" style="border-bottom:darkgreen 1px solid;text-decoration:underline;color:darkgreen;background-color:transparent;" href="http://itxt.vibrantmedia.com/al.asp?ipid=7&cc=us&cf=1&ai=7666543&di=126718&ts=20031212043841" target="_blank" oncontextmenu="return false;" onmouseover="kwE(event,126718);" onmouseout="kwL(event);" onmousemove="kwM(126718);">und </nobr>$70 for , and it works great for copying CD-ROMS and backing up data . I have Easy CD Creator ver4.05 for Window Me ,that came bundled for free with the drive ! Perhaps try switching your setup to this configuration ?
Good Luck ,Nick

Dave02, that is exactly what I have. Or HAD, that is; I removed InCD and all the incd* files in my system and rebooted. CD-ROM drive is back up and running perfectly. Thanks a million! You, too, Nick, for your "gobely gooech"!
