Downloaded something, & got MALWARE w/ it!!! FIRST... My Proxy Server is constantly being changed to ADSubtract, no-matter what I do! I can change it back but, I changes back to AdSubtract! Also, "whatever" is also changing my Connections configuration from "Never dial a connection" to "Always dial a connection". How do I get-rid of the da-n-d stuff that's doing this??? (I have Ad-Aware SE - & it lists this stuff: CoolWebS, & VX2... as many as 35 - & the delete/quarantine is ineffective. (I use the free version). I'd pull my hair out... 'xcept ain't much there to pull!!! (Thx. to all who can help). DAVE

If you dial to connect use never dial setting.Do you need a proxy on a dial up connection?I work with all those unchecked.AdAware and Spybot are competent programs that need to be updated and run regularly.Make sure you have a firewall and a good antivirus program.Zone Alarm and Antivir6 are good ones.Always delete whatever malware you find:you can't delete too much. For this firewall use medium settings to avoid blocking the connection. The more you surf the web the more you need to run and update the security programs. When you run the malware control programs like AdAware for a full scan make sure the antivirus is activated:if any virus is found, delete it.

Good luck.

Hi David

You don't give connection details.

If you want to set "Never dial a connection" does that mean you have a DSL/Cable broadband connection?

Also, why do you need to use a proxy serever?

Regards

Stuart
