hi .. muy original msg was:
I have uninstalled my Microsoft Outlook 2000 form my computer (leaving me with Microsoft Outlook Express 5 ). Although i goto tools in OE and set it as default, when i re-start OE, OE says that it still isn't the default mail handler. How can i make OE co-operate?
and someone told me to:
Did you try to set the default mail handler from your browser?
if u have IE, go to Tools-->Internet Options...
Click on the Programs tab and you should be able to figure out the rest.---
then another problem occured:
how do fill in email under the programs tab of internet option because the computer gave me no options?
then of course my first problem:
How do i make OE my default mail handler? -i have already tried going to tools>options but it still won't work.someone plz help. thanks

Going to tools/internet options/programs you should see a tab for email with a dropdown box. in it you should see things like outlook express or hotmail etc. If so just select outlook express. If not take note of what other programs you are using for other tasks here then click "reset web settings" . Outlook express should appear. If your html editor or anyother settings changed manually change them back with the drop down boxes. I use outlook 2000 for email. when ever i open outlook express i am prompted asking me would i like it to become my default mail program. if i say yes it becomes it. then to change it back to outlook 2000 i just open it and am asked the same question. Maybe its confused because you removed outlook 2000. part of it thinks its the default and the other doesnt? Maybe ive had too much koolaid.:)

I had the same problem after I uninstall
outlook 2000. I went to the program tab and
I could not type in the e-mail
dropdown box. I wanted to make outlook
express my default mail handler.I took the
advice of several other computer users and
and uninstall internet explorer and
reinstalled . It solved my problem.
