Is it a fact that you shouldn't use magnetic screwdrivers inside your tower? I remember hearing this somewhere

no idea kim....but maybe its better not to...they told me not to keep the ups next to the tower cos it has a magnetic field....i never bothered to and the ups is still there next to the tower....nothing has happned from past two years

as long as you are grounded it really shouldn't matter. I ahve been using them for better than ten years without a single problem

You should not get them near any magnetic media like hard drives or floppy disks. Other than that they should not be any problem.

the only thing oyou should be careful of with magnetic screwdrivers is with the hdd and any floppies. also it is not a good idea to put anything magnetic by your
monitor.

hello
dont let magnetic screw drivers get close to ram of cpu i use them in hard to reach spots only never had any problems

ignore wawadaves comments. RAM isn't effected by magnetic fields.
