It seems my free physical memory is not being restored after closing programs. I have installed Cacheman and has helped monitor the situation. I also get low memory errors even when system resources are very free: physical memory at 175MB+ and virtual at 90%+ free

Well, to start off: Tell me your system specs which should help diagnose the problem. Also, what programs are you running as well as in the background?

P3 800 256 MB RAM. Any and all product eventually. Get "not enough memory" to open application--usually right after closing a stalling program that gives me a dll error at closing--sometimes kernell32 sometimes wmplayer--depending upon the program I am closing. Most recently I got the not enough memory after closing one Word file and trying to open another. I also happened in the middle of a large powerpoint--or at the end of using media player or Media Studio Pro. I have installed Cacheman and that has helped lessen the occurence. I just installed a shareware RAM idle program which has solved another issure--the physical memeory would not regain itself after heavy applications. I would start at 195MB free physical mem it would quickly go down to near zero--after closing the program I was lucky to get physical memory to get past 75MB. The RAMIdle software is forcing my memory to regain itself. It has been up for 4 hours without a memory error. I have my fingers crossed

Thanks for the help (in advance)
