This morning my neighbor gave me an old gateway computer. It is a 20004sx-33. My neighbor has moved and I do not know where he is. When I try to boot up the computer it ask for a password. is there anyway to get around this??????

Also, any numbers off motherboard will help.
Please include that bunch of numbers and letters in the lower left hand corner of your monitor when the machine is starting.

Ok Skip the serial # is 1930058
mfg date is1/24/94
and lot is 1930058
model is a mini desktop

it is an old computer gateway 20004sx-33 I think it is a 133 pent.....Thanks Skip

Try this;
Unplug the computer.... open the case.....look for the jumper pin that says cmos...... move the jumper from the pins it is covering to the opposing pins.... plug computer in.... access the cmos .... go passwords..... reset all passwords....do not enter one... go to exit... exit saving changes..... it should tell you to shut down your comp and put the jumper back to the original pins..... shut down the comp... unplug..... change jumper..... plug back in.....start computer.... ( should work )

thank you everyone for all the help. I tryed to move the cmos jumper pin. no go. I changed the bios battery no go there either. The computer is very old was made in 94 so I think i will just use it for parts.
