Hi. I'm running IE 6 on a WinME machine. Sometimes when I open my browser, the address bar history list disappears. I've gone to Tools/ Internet Options/ Advanced, and made sure "Empty temporary files when closed" was unchecked. I also have "Days to keep pages in History" set to 99 and "Use autocomplete for web addresses" checked.

I've also noticed that all the entries in Excel's "Recently used file list" disappears. Is this weird or what?

Am I missing something?

Thanks.

No I'm not. I've done both a virus and spyware scan. I'm trying to determine if there's something I might have done each time this has happened. What else but a virus or something that would effect both IE and Excel?

the browser address cache and excel's recent document cache is both stored in the same place. in the recent document cache. I cannot imagine a virus doing that as most people do it manually for maintenance

I didn't realize that. I'll have to make note of what I do the next time it happens.

Thanks.
