Logitech mouse : pointer 'wobbles'

I have a logitech cordless mouseman wheel. In between replacing the batteries I used another mouse. Since i re-installed the logitech, the mouse pointer has 'wobbled' when i move the mouse quickly. It sort of shakes on one side the screen. I would move back to the other mouse but it's a tracker ball and i find the normal mouse better to use. Please help, this is really annoying... Thanks Alex P.S. would installing new nVidida 3D card drivers have caused this? Thats the only real change to the system i made in the battery changing time period...
Don't really know why this is happening but try this: Go to settings/control panel/mouse in the buttons tab make sure "clicklock" is not checked,in the pointers tab make sure "scheme" is set to none and in pointer options make sure "show pointer trails" is not checked. Don't know if this will help but you can try. One other thing, I have the same mouse and I, like you, have an old mouse on standby in case of battery failure. But I have BOTH mice installed so if I need to change its just a matter of unplugging one and plugging in the other instead of having to reinstall. It will probably show a conflict in the device manager but it will still work. Hope this helps
