I have a Compaq Presario 1700 with Windows ME. Decent processor, 64 MB RAM, etc. The system specs aren't really important. The problem is whenever I start up my laptop it asks me to login. Yes, my primary network logon method is "Windows Logon" and not "Client for Microsoft Networks" or anything else. I only have one PWL file on my entire drive (and that's the one I use) and it has no password. The "All users of this computer use the same preferences and desktop settings" radio button is selected in the "Passwords" control panel. You'd think it wouldn't ask me to login with that setup I just told you about, right? But it still does. Even when I tell TweakUI to automatically login it /still/ doesn't work. Why is that? Does anybody know how I can stop it? Thanks a lot.
You said you have one .pwl on your machine. Go to find and enter *.pwl and delete ALL that comes up. Re-boot and when it ask for password don't type anything, just press enter. The next time you boot up it should not ask for password.
