odd 1 this. my mum has a pent II 450 windows me. everything works fine apart for when she uses a word processer (word 2000 and another 1 we tried) after about 5-10 mins of typeing it all lock up and she can't do anything.

Not sure what the problem could be, my suggestions are to try an earlier version, like Word 95 or something. Or, you could always just use Wordpad...

PS, if this doesn't work try e-mailing microsoft's website...
