Loads scandisk when Me Starts!

Every time my pc locks up, I shut down the PC then restart back up, when Win ME loads to windows SCANDISK loads up than It locks up again! I then after to SHUT DOWN by pushing the power off and reboot it again, is there a way to disable SCANDISK feature? I didn't even touch anything to make scandisk load up when Win ME shuts down. (* Note I am not talking about scandisk in MS-DOS, Scandisk in Windows ME.)

it is running at start up because the computer lock up kinda like the old MS-DOS scandisk in Win98 try hitting CANCEL when it first shows up it should go away then

The REAL way to stop scandisk is through the follwing: Go to Start/run and type "Msconfig" once your there click the advanced tab and then check the "disable scandisk" box reboot and vuala... TheWiz

the real question is- Why is your computer locking up in the first place? Scandisk is just doing its job to make sure no files were damaged. Removing scandisk is like putting a piece of tape over the 'check engine' light
