Loading win 98 on win ME

I need win 98 in order to load oracle 8i personal edition on it. At present I have win ME on my PC. I would really appreciate if anybody can tell me whether I will lose all the application programs which are already present on win ME. Also would wish to know any other potential risks and precautions which I need to take care of when I do this. Thank you very much.

You can not install 98 over ME. You need to back up anything important and then reinstall after 98 is on your machine.
