My Girlfriend is having a long delay on Computer booting up, I had her check what loading and do Trevs Tweaks, but I remember a program I may have been running w98se at the time, but the program would let you know what was loading at boot up and if there was a problem with one of the items loading, I can't remember the program I know it was free, does anyone know the name or of such a prog, she is also running windows me.

Sorry, she is talking about what is running before the splash screen comes up and after the splash screen both if possible

START - RUN - MSCONFIG - OK - START UP. Uncheck the stuff you don't want loading, -APPLY - OK. I would not use the clean up tab incase this deletes the unchecked stuff which you may want to re-enable sometime in the future. What these progs are can be found at -

perhaps you mean bootlog Analyzer

Boot Log Analyzer

that would help with pre explorer stuff
the big slow down there in most cases is a network card that's looking for a IP address.

other than that you might want to stop some of the runservices.
these are the programs that get loaded first before the explorer loads.
and they sometimes get kinda bottlenecked.
TheGorx - General Tips

also large sound files that have been customly added to windows welcome bootup can cause a bottleneck too.

Yes, Thank you that is the program, I already had her uncheck the things in the start up file and do according to Trevs tweeks, but I remember on my old HP I had a built in sound card that was trying to load, because I had not tell it to disconnect in the control panel, and that program led me to it, I was new and did not what to do. Thanks gorx and you too Michael
