when I either start to typin in IE's Address Bar(such as www.whatever.com)itll show mayve like ww and then freeze for about 5 seconds, and then display the rest of what I typed. I also get this when I click to open the list of Drives in ANY program in the OPEN or SAVE box. I click it, it freezez for about 5 seconds, and then opens the list. the only other place I have noticed this is in the System Properties box, when I click the Performance tab,.. 5 seconds, then it switches over. Its a pretty full system pause.. if something like winamp is playing at the time, it will stop playing. Any ideas on what this is? it iddnt do it in 98SE and when I upgraded to ME for other reasons, this began immediately. I know I should reinstall, but figured Id give troubleshooting a fair shot first. This systems OS is somewhat of a nonexistant case... its Windows life started in 3.1, upgraded to 3.11, to 95B, to 98, to 98SE to ME.. never formatted... and I have 95% resources free on bootup and about 80% free durring most running times. this installation has been coppied to HDD to HDD and swapped form new motherboard to new motherboard probably 15-20 times.. lol. it will break my heart to format and install fresh.

Go to Control Panel > Internet Options > Content tab > click AutoComplete... > click Clear Forms and Clear Passwords. -Burbble

Believe me... Ad-Aware has been utilized since it came out. lol.. thats the main reason it runs as well as it does these days. Run it once a week and find plenty of junk that you DIDNT ask for. I usually just get it and its latest reference file from their home page, www.lavasoftusa.com Ill take a look at the other stufff for ME. thanks for those links.
