Last night I downloaded and installed the freeware firewall program Trojan Trap by Tiny Software. I did so because I'd d/l Real Player and discovered they do a LOT of data collection off one's computer - I have an 'always-on' cable connection to the Net. Didn't like what I was 'authorizing' them to do and so finally sought a firewall.
After installing Trojan Trap I began to get an endless warning that 'lexplore' was spawning in TT's sandbox - area where it traps 'viruses'.
Trying to use Real Player but, not allow them access to my data, I discovered that Microsoft is of course data mining via the Internet Explorer browser that I use to access the Net. I just installed their v 6 on the 12th.
I also installed Lavasoft Ad Aware v 5.62 which works OK. In order to access the Net I have had to remove the Trojan Trap software and will email them soon.
Will post what they have to say.
