lexplor has caused an erro in shdocvw.dll. lexplore will now close. When on the web and I ask for a search in some web pages (ie:google) it seems the harder the search the more likely it is to come up. I lock up and have to hard boot. I've locked up 7-8 times getting to u guys. Please help. PS: My daughter says it happens to her in hotmail?? thanks

d/l spybot-search and desteroy,update it and run it. do online virus scan at panda anti virus.

Try repairing Internet Explorer. Got to Add/Remove Programs. Select Internet Explorer and Service Pack1 and click on Install/Uninstall. Select the Repair Option and let it run. It will prompt you to Restart and that shoild solve the Problem. This also works for other Internet Problems.

Hello bigbear639,

Looked for iexplorer and no joy???. Did a search and no joy??. More symptoms:
history not listed in history window. I did have yaha over christmas and fixed with fixyaha. Seemed ok till this shdocvw.dll error message. Also installed adaware and continue to v-check with avg. Why can't I find Internet Explorer to try repair??. Arggh
