I installed a Lacie cd writer into one of my 2 USB ports, the one I usually use for my Kodak Digital Camera, and it crashed my system. I deleted the drivers for the camera and reinstalled the cd writer but no go. My PC is a new AMD Athlon with lots of free space and I am running Win Me. My boyfriend installed the same burner on his Mac with no problems. It is for PC and Mac according to the instructions. Thanks for any advice.

I think a lot of people have problems burning on ME. I've got a 12x burner, a 1.4Ghz AMD processor and 512Mb RAM, but I still can't write faster than 4x without it crashing. I know several others who can't write any faster than 4x, so it may be worth just putting the speed down to see what happens.
