Hey guys this is driving me nuts, any help will be greatly appreciated.
I'm unable to log onto the internet for more than around 5 minutes. After that I get the "Cannot find server: The page cannot be displayed" message. In order to log onto the internet again I have to reset my computer.
I have DSL and IE 6.0, this just started happening yesterday.

Saint of Killers, SWAG, take a look at your mail settings and be sure you don't have a check in the box to hang up after checking mail.

Mail settings? Do you mean Outlook because the only mail system I use is Hotmail.

How is your computer connected to the DSL? Are you using a router? Are you connecting through a home network of some sort? If so, do other computers on the network have the same problem? Do you have some sort of broadband link-monitoring software that tells you about the quality and status of the signal?

I'm not exactly sure what you mean by your first question, but I believe it's connected normally. It's been working fine ever since I formatted my HDD, it just started doing this Wednesday.
No, I'm not using a router and I only have one computer, no network. Also I dont have and broadband link-monitoring software installed.

Okay. This is probably a silly question, but... have you run updated versions of your anti-virus and anti-trojan/anti-spyware software?

Yes I have.

Saint of Killers, I'm still thinking of mail settings. What program do you use to read your mail? Whatever it is, there should be a place where you can specify preferences. Be sure yours isn't set to hang up after getting mail. Lots of folks used that setting in order to minimize their online time. Should be an option in most mail handlers that I know of.

All I use is Hotmail
