Specs: Windows 7
I bought my laptop two weeks ago and I am already having problems with the keyboard. For example, everytime I go to type in the" "K key ,it comes up with " 2". It is so bad that I am writing right now with the speech recognition program. I've checked all the configurations and everything is correct the language I'm afraid the keyboards broken, what do you think i can do?

Why are you asking in the WinME forum?

Regardless of why you're posting for a Wondows-7 system in the ME forum...

This is a new unit? If so take it back and ask for a replacement unit - under warranty... This one is not sutitable for the purpose for which it was sold - because it is faulty...

Even Sony have duff units at times...

Also keep notes (hard copy) of all receipts, exchanges, (letters, further bills of sale/exchange etc.) for future reference.

Ouch... to buy another laptop... Perhaps an external keyboard (usb) would have been suffice?

I'd still be leaning hard on Sony for a new (true replacement) laptop too... Only two weeks or so old and failing - doesn't inspire confidence in that particular one?

Nothing is broken, you have the Numlock key on.

mmm... If it was that simple by now I suspect the vendor would have been advised; and likely too when laptop was returned by user?

But who knows... (only The Shadow knows..)...?

Well looking at my laptop, here are the key mappings when numlock is on

2=K (look familliar)

mmm as I say.. could be; and equally I'd be surprised if either the user or the vendor didn't look for or spot that one between them.. But then again... one often sees what one wants to see - rather than what's actually there..

Perhaps the OP will report back anon?
