Comment: I just disabled my PS/2 mouse in favor of a USB mouse and enabled my other serial port. I have no conflicts in device mgr. I have my keyboard booting with irq one. It works in CMOS setup and safe mode but just sits there with the num lock light on in a normal boot... all I can use is the mouse. any ideas?

Reply: (edit)I'll answer my own question... There must be something quirky about these P007 motherboards because I've run into this behavior before. Once I tried to go from a ps/2 mouse back to a serial (I've had it a while) and it just wouldn't recognize it for anything. Anyway, for this particular problem, I had to re-enable the PS/2 in BIOS and disable the com port that took it's IRQ (not a one for one IRQ switch but everything adjusted around and fit in). After I rebooted, windows recognized the keyboard and mouse and everything was hunky. The other weird sign I had was booting in safe mode... I had access to my keyboard but not to my usb mouse. Now I'm back to having everything likah the little things, like typing...
