Keyboard doesn't work in command prompt?

I just installed ME, and the keyboard works fine in windows, but when I go to command prompt the \ key produces a > and the ~ produces |, which can be a pain for moving around in DOS.. tried reinstalling the keyboard in control panel.. any other suggestions? seems that the keyboard layout settings for DOS and Win may be stored in a different place... any help is appreciated, thanks

Had the same problem with my USB KB you didn't mention whether yours was a USB or not but I had the option to plug mine into my KB port and it works fine in both windows and DOS

It's not USB.. its just a standard PS2 connector.. maybe I will just try reinstalling it again =) damn windows!
