I have a hp6701 with Celeron 650 64 ram and Windows ME It is six months old.recently every time I hit the 1 on the numeric pad I get anything between 2 and six(111111) There is no gunk or coffee under the key.

Also, check for viruses, you might have some kind of macro on there that you may not know about.
