Every now and again when I go on the internet a message on my screen appears saying something about a file i think is called kernell32.dll or something along those lines. This causes the internet to close. Can anyone tell me which part of my system this file is under e.g c:/windows/system/ and email me a clean working version of this file to replace it (billyhayer@yahoo.com).
Cheers
Jat

It should be located in \Windows\System...my version is dated 6/8/2000 and is 524KB. Truth is, you need to supply the exact error message for anyone to truly help you. It may be that some other file than kernel32.dll is the problem.

Kernel32.dll is the 32-bit dynamic link library of the operating system kernel. Kernel32.dll handles memory management, input/output operations, and interrupts.
Generally speaking, kernel32 errors while surfing are cured by doing what it says at point 14 of this post
(the first link is SMUOD’s nice-looking HMTL version with hyperlinks, the second is the forum post with additional comments and replies)

If that doesn't work, also try repairing internet explorerControl panel, Add/Remove programs, MS Internet Explorer 6, click add/remove, select Repair Internet Explorer

I'm having this error message when I try to run Aol Instant Messenger.
AIM caused an invalid page fault in
module KERNEL32.DLL at 017f:bff7b9f2.
