Running Windows Me, and getting a Kernell32.dll error. I either need to find a replacement kernell32.dll, which I have been unable to do. Or I need to try to down grade to Windows 98SE.

Please send url to a replacement file. I i decided to down grade what is the easiest way to do it?

I had a problem with kernel32.dll and wanted to replace it in case it was corrupt.
I found a method on the microsoft website but I don't seem to be able to locate it now.
Anyway its fairly easy, first make a win me startup disk (My computer, control panel, startup tab) and reboot with this disk. Type ext and return at the prompt, this will bring up instructions to locate the folder that the replacement file will be in, its name, where you want to put it and if you want to overwrite. You can find it in the cab files directory on the win me disk or if the cab files have been installed on your hard disk look there. You need to know how to spec the path such as E:\win 98\
You probably know that kernel32.dll is in your windows\system folder.
If your a novice this sounds difficult but its actually quite easy. DIR is useful to understand where you are.
Hope this helps,
good luck.
