one day the computer works fine the next ill turn it on and it will start up like normal and as its loading it will just freeze. so i have to shut it off manually restart it and it will boot to safe mode run an error scan show nothings wrong and run fine in safe mode. i restart it and it loads in to regular mode like nothing happend. i thought maybe the sytem was just getting old and needed to be reloaded so i put in the " System Restoration Kit" that came with it. as that was loading it come putting up "critical error:Abort,Retry,Ignore,Fail" i think the last option was fail or at least soemthing along those lines. at first i told it to retry and it ould go along and work then the same error would come up. after telling it to retry a few times and getting no where i told it to ignore but that didnt do anything and it just quit out of the restoration. i put the disk back in and tryed agian and it worked fine loaded everything with out delay. i went through and set up my internet downloaded updates from microsoft and everything seemed fine but the problem started up again. the only other program running on it right now is AVG free edition. any help would be apreciated.

cerberus, my initial 'gut feeling' is memory management. ME as it was released was really BAD. If you haven't done it, I'd strongly suggest you read/install the 'tweaks' found in 'Trev's tweaks...' found @:

REALLY helped me.
HTH.
