I am in the process of upgrading my motherboard and processor from an intel p4 to an Athlon motherboard and processor. Is there anyway to transfer my hard drive onto the new motherboard without having to reinstall Windows ME and still not not encounter any problems? Thanks.
This link will explain what to do. It's the same for 98 and ME.

friends same issue here. I read the article at the windowsupdate site, but I fear a crucial point is unaddressed there. Seems the viewpoint of the article is indeed Win98, which was widely distributed for business, commercial, home/retail and OEM. ME on the other hand is mostly tied to hardware: OEM. Most folks I have pinged say it will not come up at all when you switch over the HD to the new motherboard.
I really need a solution to this cause its crazy to buy another copy when I already have two legitimate copies, but on the HD's of my two HP machines! all the discs shipped were recovery, not real OS.
