hello jumpers are for enableing or disableing hard ware functions of the mother board. such as for resetting bios back to oridgenal configureation. disableing on board vidio or audio. disableing or enableing wake on lan setting cpu clock speeds.and more. they are usealy just a small 1/4" plastic blocks that set across several sets of up right pins on the mother board. depending on witch pins is what happens. allso hard drives and cr,s and dvd,s and cd-rw and dvd-rw,s allso have jumpers to set them from master or slave or cable select. allso some graphics cards have jumpers to set there speed 2x 4x ect. and allmost all onlder asi cards had many jumpers for setting the i/o,s and irq,s hope this helps
