I have windows ME and I have to use the program that came with my camera to view pictures taken with it. Just basic JPEG's but there doesn't seem to be anything on ME that allows me to just view the pictures like on XP. can anyone recommend a program or something I can use to view my JPEGS's without loading up the crappy Camedia program? thanks.

I think there's one of the 'fresh' programs - 'Freshview' which is a browser/viewer for most image types & it's free.

'view the pictures like on XP'??
Do you mean like as a slide show. ME has this option in the pictures folder and with a bit of adjustment, ANY folder on ME will show the images as a slide show.
Post back with more details before I spend 15 minutes typing up stuff that you don't want to know.

Give this a try;
Open Control Panel and select Tools at the top of the page. When the drop down window opens select Folder Options and another drop down window will open. Here select File Types and under Registered File Types scroll down until you find JPE, JPEG, and JPG. Click on JPE and then click on the Change Button. Soon you will get another drop down screen, here scroll down until you see Image Preview. Select that and then do the same for JPEG and JPG.
Once all of that is done close all of the windows, find a JPG file or one of the others and click on it. The image should now open with the ME Image Preview program.
You can do this for .GIF files also.
Lots of luck.

Another thing you can try is to download the free graphic viewer/converter. Its a great freeware app ,thats lets you easily view and convert(change format .GIF to .JPEG visaversa)pictures /graphics etc. I did some funny stuff with that app to things in My Pictures ,and did it easily .This is a lnk to web site >http://www.irfanview.com
Its been awhile since I've gone to web site so if that dont work do a google search ,Iam sure it will come up !
Good Luck Nick
