Hey,
I have Kazaa on my computer and it's always opened up fine. Well yesterday I tried to open it the normal way i do by goin to the start menu>programs>kazaa because i didn't want an icon on my desktop. Anyway, I tried clicking on it and it wouldn't open!!! I also tried right-clicking it in start menu and selecting open but that didn't help. Every other program on my comp opens just fine but I use Kazaa to get movies and music cause all the other ones I've tried sucked or could never find anything. Any help would be appreciated. Thanx

Unless you want Spyware on your computer, you should uninstall Kazaa. See this post:

I thought this had been covered thoroughly! LOL

What is kazaa anyway? I found that in my registry but didn't del because I didn't know what it was. I have AdAware (which found 140 files on my sys) and it didn't detect it.

hello kazaa is a music and movie shareing program full of spy ware you can remove it
from the reg.
as to the first post to do a clean install ok kazaa so it will work you must first remove it from add/remove programs. but take every thing out of your shared folder first and put it in an unshared folder kazaa dat files and all.next uninstall kazaa, than goto start run type regedit, goto hkey curant user, soft ware, right click on kazaa chose delete, close that box back, goto hkey loacal machine, soft ware, and do the same.
next goto start ,search and type in kazza ,click search delete any kazza but not your dats in unshared folder.
now re download a new copy of kazaa or copy form any you had backed up on cd.
have a nice day

Dave, your intentions are good, but that's REALLY difficult to follow.

Again, refer to my earlier post...

you can run kazza virtually spyware free, heres how. you will need two files you can find online one is ad-aware it can be found on cnet.com. Its a free program that I suggest that everyone get. What it does is search your system for un-wanted nastees ie... spyware. second you'll need a dummy spyware file called CD_clint.dll, this can be found by typing it into your search engin and look for post with the heading (spyware neutering). After you have these two files here's what to do.
1.) install kazza if you don't already have it on your computer.
2.) install Ad-aware and run it than delete all that nasty spyware that it finds.
3.) unzip the cd_clint dummy file ( this zip comes with three files ) the only one you need is cd_clint.dll put this file into your Windows\system folder and wa-la kazza spyware free.
4.) what happened? kazza on startup looks to see if this file is where it is supposed to be if the duummy file is there kazza thinks everything is ok and loads. this really works so give it a try.
