i have formated my computer over 5 times now, every time i try to install windows98se or windows me i keep getting errors.
ive tried using nortons and as well mcaffee neither of the two find a virous. (yes i updated the virous scanners before and after scanning for virouses) been trying to get through this for a week now.

when i do get windows installed the explorer crashes all the time, ive tried the windows updates to they dont help at the least in fact i get more errors like that.
when i try to install kazaa i get an error to "Cd_install_253" this program has performed an u know how it goes...

cant instal diablo2 properly either. and a lot of .exe files just simply wont install properly.

i have also fdisk'd formated before and after.
tried 2 different hard drives.
(i did have both hard drives running on this computer)
only running the small 6.4 gig right now

is it possible my ram or motherboard or video card has a virous in it? if so how would i go about that problem?

After all those scans and formats, I think you can rule out a virus.
I would suspect that you have a hardware problem - possibly bad RAM causing all these errors - or maybe a dodgy processor.

One thing i know for sure that will cause you some errorage' (slang):) is the wrong version of norton being installed. You have atleast 2001 correct?
If you end up formatting the drive again only install windows me no software just drivers and see if your errors show up. If not you may be able to rule out hardware. If the errors show up without anything loaded see above post.

I can't believe you would write a post that long without the system specs and program list.

RAM is cheap.

It does sound like the problems I had when my memory went bad. (I don't remember when that was.)
It took me weeks to get it figured out and I bought this PC I have now before I could find the reason and fix the old one.
You gotta get it fixed so you can play DIABLO II.
