Hi Kev
Well it's been a long time since I used Kazaa but the word on the street is that it contains enough Spyware to choke a mule, so if I where you I would forget it.

On a hot summers night would you offer your throat to the Wolf with the Red Roses?

If you do not share, a lot of the Kazaa users will put you on the s**t list and you will not be able to download anything.

Kazaa is also full of spyware etc.

CleanKazaa is the best bet. It has no spywear etc, your participation level is at a constant 1000, so no more 'remotely queued. You get unlimited 'search mores', and all these other funky tools, like the ability to jump supermodes, heaps of stuff. It doesnt hog your resources either. The same layout as kazaa, it is kazaa but some kind person has just taken all the junk out. The only thing is doesnt have that the latest version of kazaa does, is the ability to do several searches at once. I use CleanKazaa V 2.4.4 but their are newer ones, they are toward the bottom of this page.

Download KazaaBegone first to get rid of all residues of Kazaa, that is if you are using it already.

Enough Spyware to choke a mule! True.

KazaaLite 2.43 is spyware free. It's the same program but the spyware has been removed.

There is a filter built in to help keep from downloading viruses but you have to turn it on and it's not foolproof.

Always virus check any download before you open it for the first time. There is also a blocker to keep out the RIAA. I doubt this is foolproof either.

You might also want to un-hide the file extensions on you PC. You then might get suspicious of a file supposedly a picture of Britney Spears but has the extension .exe (wonder if that's a virus)??

I have used many P2P file sharing programs. WinMX,Imesh,EDonkey200, Warez P2P, and ofcourse Kazaa. Out of all KaZaa has been the most reliable. Everyone worries abought spyware, and getting a virus. GET A ANTI-VIRUS/SPYWARE PROGRAM! Go ahead and use the program. I dont see why not
