Is it possible to fix bad clusters?....

I had bad clusters on my laptop harddrive (new system, ME) and the warranty covered it to be fixed. I have the laptop back and I've scanned to see if the bad clusters are still there and they aren't. But, yet everything is still the same, no reinstall's have been done and all my files are still the same as it was before it went to get a new hard drive. Is it possible to fix, or override, somehow, the bad clusters, so they will not show up in a scan, or have they really changed the harddrive. How can you tell if they have changed the harddrive?
they probably replaced the drive and used some drive copy software,to make an exact copy of what you had when you sent it in. there are programs that will fix bad clusters if they are just marked bad but aren't really bad ,such as spinrite.
It is not possible to fix bad clusters. However it is possible to mark them as bad so the OS won't use them. You can do this by running scandisk and have it do a full surface scan. You can choose the option to automaticly fix or manualy warn you about bad clusters.
Or they may have imaged the bad hard drive to a good one.
Unless you had the serial number from the old drive and compared it to the one that is in there now, it might be hard to tell.
