My computer keeps locking up and it is when I am on the internet and listening to music. I looked at my irq's and I found that my modem and sound card are both using IRQ 10. I also hear some sound distortion from this conflict. Here is my IRQ info listed below.
IRQ 0 System timer OK
IRQ 1 Standard 101/102-Key or Microsoft Natural Keyboard OK
IRQ 2 Programmable interrupt controller OK
IRQ 3 SCI IRQ used by ACPI bus OK
IRQ 5 VIA Tech 3038 PCI to USB Universal Host Controller OK
IRQ 5 VIA Tech 3038 PCI to USB Universal Host Controller OK
IRQ 5 ACPI IRQ Holder for PCI IRQ Steering OK
IRQ 6 Standard Floppy Disk Controller OK
IRQ 7 Printer Port (LPT1) OK
IRQ 8 System CMOS/real time clock OK
IRQ 10 VIA AC'97 Audio Controller (WDM) OK
IRQ 10 HSP56 WDM COMMUNICATION DEVICE OK
IRQ 10 ACPI IRQ Holder for PCI IRQ Steering OK
IRQ 11 NVIDIA GeForce2 MX/MX 400 OK
IRQ 11 ACPI IRQ Holder for PCI IRQ Steering OK
IRQ 12 PS/2 Compatible Mouse Port OK
IRQ 13 Numeric data processor OK
IRQ 14 VIA Bus Master PCI IDE Controller OK
IRQ 14 Primary IDE controller (dual fifo) OK
IRQ 15 VIA Bus Master PCI IDE Controller OK
IRQ 15 Secondary IDE controller (dual fifo) OKIf you know how to fix this please help me thank you.

Load up your Motherboard bios (hit 'del' or 'esc' at bootup) and disable ACPI. I am using SOYO Dragon+, when I installed WinXP Pro, it works for 5-10 minutes, then just freezes solid. Caused by multiple items using same IRQ. Disable ACPI and this should solve your problem.
