Iam thinking of downloading and installing the freeware application IrFan Veiw , graphic veiwer ! Can anyone that has this application already tell me their exprience with it . How well is it at converting formats ? I mostly would like to use it to downsize file sizes for email attachments. Also ,when I went to their web site it stated that you needed certain plugins , for it to work properly. I have the lastest version of Media Player, however I only have a barebones version of Quick Time Player that was installed when I installed a game for my little girl. I believe ver 4.0 ? Any input or suggestions appreciated, Thanks Nick
IrFanView is not a photo editor as such, but you can reduce the size and resolution and/or save to compressed format. It also has a separate package to download the plugins. I find it to be an excellent viewer and use as my default.
If you need to crop as well, then you should use a graphics/photo editor.

Like wilbur said it's good for reducing sizes and could even convert image formats, but if you do want to edit it you will need a image editor. If you want you can download a free one called The Gimp. It needs some getting use to for a novice.

Hope that helps.
