My IP keeps changing every time i connect. i have Sympatico High Speed. i have no clue how to keep it to one IP, any ideas?

that depends on your isp
if they assign you a static ip ,then it stays the same, and they should have given you info on setting it up.
what you describe is dynamic ip which changes everytime you logon.the easiest solution is call them and ask.
i didn't see the answer on their website.

Personally I prefer a Dynamic I.P.. that way I am a moving target for any would be hackers.
But that is just my preference though.

Your probably on DHCP (Dynamic Host Client Protocall), dynamically allocating ips for every computer on their network. If you are trying to set up a server or something. . .good luck, that is another reason for DHCP, along with the one above. . .but there is no way to get a static number unless you call you ISP to get one, but they will usually charge extra for a static (because most likely, a person would run servers off a static.)
