CPU/Ram: p1 (133mhz) 196ram

i get the following error msg;" Conflict with IP address 192.168.1.100 with system having a hardware address 00:08:a1:28:47. The interface has been disabled." I get this msg on startup and sometimes when im online. I can still get online? Any ideas on how to fix this error? thanks

Tell us a little more about the Network your system is connected to, what type of router and what the network administrator is telling you about the problem.

Sounds like your machine is being assigned a DHCP IP address by a router (or has been configured in the Network TCP/IP settings to use that IP address) and there is another system or device on the network that also is using that address. The error message is giving you the MAC address of that device. Interesting thing is that the MAC address looks like a Linksys MAC address and might be from a Linksys Network card or a Linksys router of some kind.

I would only expect to see that type of error from a miss-configured network, or from a wi-fi attached system that has been so badly configured that it is attempting to connect to a neighbors wi-fi router, or worse, a router with no security that has allowed neighbors wi-fi systems to connect to it.
