hi, i just plugged in my iomega zip cd (usb) and nothing is happening. is their something i can do to make windows search for it? all my other usb devices are working fine(adsl modem and game controllers) any help would be great!
Did you restart after hooking it up. It will need a driver for the device. Windows cannot just recognize the zip drive. Install the softwaare that came with the drive.
I just installed mine, you have to download the driver then the software, there are updated drivers for Windows me, and if you don't update them they it won't work. Iomega is real helpful, they have analizer online that analizes your problem and sends it to them I sent it to them on monday night and tuesday they emailed me back with the answer and instructions. They were very fast. Sue.

I just purchased the zipCD and am having the same problem. I contacted Iomega and they were little help at all...simply advised me to shut down all unnecessary programs before installing the software. They never mentioned upgrading my drivers...where can I find these upgrades? Thanks Cynthia
What is happening when you try to install this thing? I know in Windows ME you have to be real patient when installing new hardware, especially USB stuff. It doesn't take the usual 2 minutes like it did in 98 SE. Start the install and let it sit for an hour or so. Eventually it should prompt you to do what you need to. I know it sounds wierd but just be really patient with it. I had similar problems when installing a USB webcam and even a printer. Microsoft really knows how to make a newer faster product. Good luck, Ron
